HOW MUCH DOES THERAPY COST?Upon receiving your outreach, I will reply promptly with full, detailed and transparent information about rates for services offered, lengths of sessions, etc. I will reach back to you and provide initial practice forms which include session rates, policies and guidelines and various consent forms. I am out of network with all insurance companies. Superbills are available, which you can submit to your insurance company in pursuit of reimbursement of claims using your out of network benefits. Payment for sessions is collected via autopay prior to provision of services, normally within the 1-2 hours preceding the session. If you do want to obtain a superbill, your insurance company requires the assignment of a diagnosis. I do not communicate with insurance companies and any reimbursement clients seek from their insurance is strictly between them.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?I am out of network with insurance companies because I find it to be detrimental to the provision of high-quality care. Participating with insurance panels often winds up requiring that large amounts of time and focus be spent on the medicalization of psychotherapy. While the medical model has its place there is much about it that I dislike when it comes to therapy, in particular regard to the issues in which I am seasoned and specialized. Much of the most valuable work that happens in psychotherapy cannot be neatly fit into a box of diagnostic codes and medical necessity justifications. I find it much more valuable to my clients to be able to dedicate that time and focused thought to your treatment instead. Insurance requires a certain degree of pathologizing, by the nature of the model, to be eligible for claims reimbursement. Rather than being overly focused on symptoms and diagnoses, I prefer to be focused on those intangibles such as authenticity, processes of discernment, autonomy, agency, inner growth, authenticity, deconstructing internalized ableism, etc.

WHAT THERAPEUTIC MODALITIES DO YOU USE?I do not offer a cookie-cutter approach to psychotherapy. The most important part of the therapeutic relationship is equity, respect and psychological safety. We will build and grow the relationship together and tailor the therapeutic approaches based on what works best for you. I practice in a very individualized manner. At a high-level, my approach is eclectic and incorporates paradigms, modalities and techniques from the therapeutic schools of thought and practice listed below: Attachment-Focused Bowen family systems DBT-Informed Existential-Humanistic Therapy Integrative/Eclectic Therapy Internal Family Systems (IFS) Jungian Therapy Narrative Therapy Psychodynamic Therapy Trauma-Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

DO YOU OFFER PHONE CONSULTS BEFORE WE START WORKING TOGETHER?I do offer a free 15-minute consult before booking an initial therapy session. However, these initial consults are often not sufficient to truly assess whether or not it is likely to be a good therapeutic fit. It often takes more than the initial consult for clients to gain a sense of whether or not my style feels that it will meet their needs and will match what they are seeking. If, after an initial consult, we opt together to proceed through the intake process, we will complete two initial assessment sessions. Upon completion of these two intake sessions, we will re-assess and discuss and choose together whether or not to proceed with establishing ongoing care and initiating psychotherapy services. This approach ensures there has been adequate interaction and time spent together for you to feel you are making an informed decision about your care.
